Revenue Enhancement Strategic Plan

Lilongwe District Council is a Local Authority (LA) is mandated to mobilize financial resources through collection of market fees, commercial ventures and business licensing among others. For this to happen, Councils need a well-organized and robust revenue management system in order to collect enough revenue for delivery of public goods and services through implementation of projects and programmes.

The Mphamvu kwa Wanthu philosophy of bottom up approach calls for adequate resources for efficient and effective delivery of goods and services to the citizenry.

The strategic plan expounds the strategic options that Lilongwe District Council has on the table for enhancing her position in order to attain a steady flow of sustainable locally generated revenues. It looks at the background of the district, revenue problem analysis, strategies for enhancing local revenue mobilization, the implementation plan and the predictions on local revenue receipts.
